Anything and (e)verything can happen.

For Beijing-based space-funk-post-prog-rock band, RandomK(e), 2010 is not only the Year We Make Contact; it is also the Year We Turn Five. Yes, the band that the rock community loves to try to describe, celebrates its first half-decade. And like the band's annual (e)vents of past years (live painting, baked goods, special guests, jam sessions, multiple-projection video assaults, incredible music), RandomK(e)'s Fifth Anniversary will also involve multi-disciplinary, multi-media, multi-sensory, multi-level, multi-dimensional celebrations that will leave audiences stunned, mind-blown and begging for more. One last thing that the Celebrations will leave the audiences: Filmed.
SOMEONE SHOULD BE FILMING THIS is oft-uttered among the masses following the RandomK(e) saga. Talk, thus far: Cheap. From here on out: RandomK(e) will spend. SOMEONE SHOULD BE FILMING THIS: Sentiment no longer. Action will it be. Incorporating not only the band's performance and the festivities surrounding it, but the Fans, also, in all their rock and roll glory. Fans – nay, participants – are encouraged to sport their most camera-friendly t-shirts, hot pants, make up, hairstyles, costumes, behaviour and anything else (in)appropriate to win camera time and appear in a film to be screened within six months of the Festivities. Hilarity, celebrity, festivities, legal waivers and more will ensue. And: Music. Great music. Much music that has yet to be unveiled in any live setting anywhere on earth. Yes: The Global Premiere of RandomK(e)'s rather splendid new material, as well as the hits you've come to love.
In addition to being the date of RandomK(e)'s most Ambitious Outing yet, March 27, 2010 is Earth Hour, WWF's global movement for urgent climate action ( http://earthhour.org.cn ), in which lights, around the earth, go off. RandomK(e) hereby announces that It is the FIRST ROCK BAND TO ANNOUNCE PARTICIPATION IN CHINA’S EARTH HOUR CELEBRATIONS, and herby bids all attendees: Bring your own light source – torches (British and flaming), candles, lighters, matches, flashlights, laser pointers and portable strobe light systems are all K(e)-approved light sources, as are many other items not herefore listed. Pre-performance activities will include Earth Hour-related and -unrelated fun and games and edibles.
Other commemorations to note this year:
